Gemma woodwind sax.jpg

Gemma achieved Grade 8's on flute, clarinet and saxophone and went on to study music at Keele University where she gained her BA Hons in 2010. Since then she has been busy teaching woodwind, guitar and ukulele both in schools and privately around Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire with students (from young to the more mature!) taking both classical and jazz exams. She has performed widely in various bands and acts, ranging from 1940's big band to hip hop and also from time to time can be found in an Orchestra/band pit playing reed parts for shows.

A firm 1950's rock and roll lover, she currently sings in the rockabilly band Unlucky Strike and plays alto sax and flute in the Derby based funk band Oobleck.
